Fort Worth, TX – The Western Rugby Football Union (WRFU) Men’s Div 2 & Division 3 Championship will be held in Fort Worth at Gateway Park, May 1 and 2. Jesuit College Prep (Dallas) and Austin Westlake will compete in the High School Championship while Katy & the Woodlands will compete in the U-19 championships.

Austin, TX – The Katy Barbarians claimed the TYRA State Championship in the multi-school division defeating the Woodlands while in the Texas High School Rugby Conference Dallas Jesuit defeated Austin Woodlake 31-8. In the THSRC Men’s Division II final St. Pius X HS from Houston defeated Alamo Heights HS.
Dallas Jesuit, Austin Westlake, and Katy will move on toward the Western Rugby Football Union Championships. If successful there they can move on to the USA Rugby’s HS National Championships.

The 5th annual Gareth Jones Challenge Cup was held April 10th on the campus of Texas A&M University and was a tremendous success. The tournament included brackets for u19, u19 girls, u19 High Performance, u17 High Performance, u17, u15, u13, u11, and u9 involving 39 teams. In addition to the games, the tournament also included a girl’s clinic run by women’s coach Jim Schriener and the Texas A&M women’s rugby team along with the Rugby Challenger event which provided children with special needs the opportunity to participate in the tournament.

The video from the US Eagles recent assembly in Houston is available. It is not a true training video but it is the actual video shot by the Eagles to evaluate the talent at the assembly. It is an excellent opportunity to watch the drills and be able to pause & learn them.
